Each year, the Planning Community of Practice organizes trainings and workshops
to help ensure planners across USACE have the ability to accomplish the agencys
mission, which is dependent upon strong, effective relationships and the free
exchange of technical information and collaborative thought. These events differ in
size and scope, ranging from national PCoP workshops to regional trainings to
sub-CoP meetings. The following Planning Community SharePoint site links include

The USACE MSC and District Planning Chiefs (or their designees) met at the Chicago District from 17-19 May 2022 with
the purpose of gaining a common understanding of USACE and Civil Works Directorate priorities, the Planning Chiefs’ role
in implementing those priorities, and how taking care of our people supports those priorities. Objectives of the meeting
included: 1) Sharing best practices and lessons learned in Civil Works project development as groundwork to revolutionize
planning and execute the program; 2) Leveraging enterprise expertise to more effectively deliver feasibility studies and
other planning products/activities; and 3) Improving enterprise project delivery and planner satisfaction by engaging
planning expertise beyond District and MSC borders.
